Bolen, Ballard The Only Write-In Candidates For Christian County Voters

While the November General Election for 2023 mainly features statewide races, there will be two local positions on the ballot for Christian County voters.

Friday was the deadline for write-in candidacy announcements and was the day that Stephanie Bolen filed as a candidate for Commonwealth’s Attorney and Caleb Ballard filed as a candidate for the 4th district school board seat.

Bolen will face Maureen Leamy, the Republican nominee for the seat. Whoever is the winner of the race will fill the remainder of the term for Rick Boling, who resigned in February. The seat will go up for vote again next year and the winner will serve a full, six-year term.

Ballard will face Rebecca Pepper, who is a current member of the Christian County School Board.

To vote for a write-in candidate, you will have to write their names on the ballot.

Christian County residents can vote through in-person absentee voting at the Christian County Clerk’s Office Monday to Wednesday. Early voting will take place from Thursday to Saturday at the Christian County Senior Citizens’ Center, James E. Bruce Convention Center, and the Walnut Street Center Boys and Girls Club. On Election Day, Tuesday, November 7, Christian County residents will have 13 voting locations available from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
