Psychiatric Evaluation In Dullenty Murder Case

Motioned for through Commonwealth’s Attorney Carrie Ovey-Wiggins, an evaluation by the Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center is coming for Harold Jett.

Charged with multiple pursuit-related infractions and the October 2021 strangulation of his aunt, Mary Dullenty, the Illinois man was in Trigg County Circuit Court Wednesday morning — with Judge Jamus Redd agreeing to the order.

A September 16-24, 2024, trial remains in place, but competency and criminal responsibility questions are in play.

Defense Attorneys Rick Lawniczak and Amie Martinez besought Redd to allow one of their expert witnesses to be present for the mental assessment.

As he’s previously stated, Redd said KCPC orders have to submitted as soon as possible — because the unit is supremely backed up with calls for psychiatric evaluations.

Another pretrial conference was set for 9 AM January 10, 2024.
