Funeral services for 87-year old William “Belmont” Sholar of Hopkinsville will be Monday, September 25, at 10:00 at Flat Lick Presbyterian Church.
Burial will follow in Flat Lick Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 until 8 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home in Hopkinsville.
The family has entrusted Maddux Funeral Home with handling the arrangements.
William “Belmont” Sholar, age 87, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.
Mr. Sholar was born on December 21, 1935, in Trigg County, KY to the late William Clifton and Lonnie Mae Sowell Sholar. He was a car salesman for over 51 years, having sold cars at multiple FORD dealerships in Hopkinsville. Belmont was a member and long-time Elder at Flat Lick Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Dean Hancock Sholar; his brother TP Sholar; and his sister Imogene Sholar.
Survivors include his son, Keith Sholar, and his wife Ginnie of Christian County; his daughter, Marsha Sholar Bourne of Christian County; three grandchildren, Kelsey (Adam) Moser, Courtney (Geoff) Henry, Jamison Sholar; and one great-grandchild, Bennett Moser.
