Ken Martin was surrounded by his family as he passed on from this life to be with the Lord Jesus on Sunday morning September 17, 2023.

An accomplished animal nutritionist, Ken was a farmer and sales consultant in the livestock feed industry with a masters degree from the University of Kentucky.

In 1995, Ken was called to serve as farm manager and agriculture teacher for Oneida Baptist Institute, a K-12 Christian school in Clay County, Kentucky for students from the local community and all over the world. In his seven years of service, Ken believed that “the kids were the crops” and he had a profound impact on the lives of many students.

He returned to his career in feed sales in 2002 and retired in 2018 to pursue his interests including hiking, spending time with family and grandchildren, advising a large swine operation in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Edgewood Baptist Church. In the final months of his life, Ken enjoyed sharing meals and memories with those he was close to and loved to tell the stories of what Jesus had done for him with everyone who would listen.

Born in Fort Campbell, KY on October 2,1953, Ken was the son of the late Donald Newell Martin and Beverly Baine Combs Martin. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nancy Brown Martin; his daughters: Beverly (Hunter) Marshall of Cerulean, KY and Jennifer (James) Patterson of Nashville, TN; his brothers: Ronald Martin of Evansville, IN and Loy Martin (Tomiyia Barrett) of Lawrenceburg, KY; his sister: Linda (Rick) Lawson of Vanceburg, KY; and his grandchildren: Zane Marshall, Savannah Marshall, Kensley Marshall, and Ridge Marshall.
