Former Trigg Circuit Clerk Rose Freeman Dies

Former Trigg County Circuit Court Clerk Rose Freeman died Sunday at her daughter’s home in Eddyville. She was 91.

Freeman was a Trigg County High School graduate and moved to Todd County in 1963 where she served on the Guthrie City Council.

The family moved back to Trigg County where she went to work as the chief deputy in the Trigg County circuit court clerk’s office. She was elected Trigg County Circuit Court Clerk in 1981 and served a six-year term before she was unseated by Pat Wallace in 1987.

Freeman was a longtime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a member of Ophelia Chapter #55, Order of the Eastern Star, the Thomas Bridges Association, and a charter member of the James Thomas Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution.

Goodwin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Rose Freeman.
