Graveside services for 79-year-old Robert Lee Boren, of Cadiz, will be 2:30 PM Sunday at Matheny Cemetery in Land Between the Lakes, Golden Pond.
Visitation will be from 12-2 PM Sunday at Goodwin Funeral Home.
Survivors include:
Two daughters, Tina (Mark) Boren Lane, of Cadiz, and Roberta “Bobbi” (Shane) Boren Gee, of Hopkinsville;
A brother, Herbert Lee Boren, of Murray;
Two sisters, Martha Hinton, of Cadiz, and Dorothy Russell, of Dover, Tennessee;
Three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Boren died at 7:55 AM, Thursday, August 31, 2023, at his daughter’s home in Cadiz.
He was born September 26, 1943, in Linton, Trigg County.
He retired from Phelps Dodge in Hopkinsville with 25 years of dedicated service. After the closing of Phelps Dodge, he took up over-the-road truck driving, teamed with his brother, Herbert Lee. When he wasn’t working, Robert was often found in his garage where he loved to build and tinker with machines.
He was most proud of his work restoring his 1956 Ford Victoria from start to finish. He also enjoyed riding 4-wheelers and spending time as “Papaw” with his family.
