West Kentucky Average Gas Prices Approach $3.50 Per Gallon

Gas prices in west central Kentucky crept up seven cents on the gallon this week, up from $3.42 to $3.49.

Per the weekly AAA East Central Gas Price Report, prices this time last year were nearly in line with now, at $3.40.

In Caldwell County, it’s between $3.39 and $3.49 in Princeton.

In Crittenden County, it’s between $3.39 and $3.45 in Marion.

In Lyon County, it’s $3.59 in Eddyville, and between $3.65 and $3.67 in Kuttawa.

In Todd County, it’s $3.39 in Elkton and $3.43 in Guthrie.

In Christian County, it’s between $3.25 and $3.39 in Hopkinsville, $3.29 in Fort Campbell and between $3.28 and $3.39 in Oak Grove.

In Trigg County, it’s between $3.39 and $3.59 in Cadiz.

In Hopkins County, it’s between $3.23 and $3.38 in Nortonville, between $3.25 and $3.29 in Hanson, and $3.29 in Madisonville.

Other regional points of interest: it’s $3.53 in Bowling Green, $3.46 in Elizabethtown, $3.86 in Louisville, $3.26 in Owensboro and $3.38 in Paducah.

The national average for a gallon of gas up three cents to $3.85. Gas demand has increased, crude oil prices are north of $80 a barrel, and today’s price is 29 cents more than a month ago, but still 10 cents less than a year ago.

At the close of Wednesday’s formal trading, West Texas Intermediate increased by $1.48 to settle at $84.40. The price of oil has not been this high since mid-April 2023. Prices have increased amid market optimism that oil demand will be more robust than expected during this half of 2023 and into 2024.
