Officials with the Hopkinsville Human Rights Commission have sent out the invitation for all interested citizens to attend the 2023 Unity Breakfast.
Set for 7:30-8:45 AM Thursday, October 26 at the Bruce Convention Center, the anticipated fellowship always falls in conjunction with the annual “Human Rights Week.” This year’s theme is “Unarmed Truth and Unconditional Love.”
A table of 10 is $200, and can be purchased through any Hopkinsville HRC member, or by visiting the Municipal Center in the HRC office. Individual tickets are $20. Tables and tickets can also be purchased online at www.eventbrite.com.
Tickets at the door will be on a limited basis, and will have an increased price of $30.
Sponsorship opportunities remain available as well, and it comes with great benefits and marketing ballast.
Each year, the HRC Unity Breakfast brings with it the presentation of four major awards. This includes:
— The Hal & Bettye Thurmond Award, which goes to a member, group, or organization in Hopkinsville-Christian County who is making a difference to improve the community through their dedication to human relations.
— The Mayor’s Unity Award, which goes to a citizen, group, or organization within the city limits and makes deliberate, conscious efforts to unite people and work together to better the community.
— The Standard Award for Excellence, which goes to individuals within Hopkinsville-Christian County for their outstanding service and devotion that goes above and beyond the call of duty in their profession to better the community.
— And the Volunteer of the Year Award, which goes to a member, group, or organization in Hopkinsville-Christian County for their outstanding service and going above and beyond to positively impact the agency they serve or the community at large.
