Bond Reduction Hearing Slated For Princess Theater Shooting Suspect

7-26-day

A bond reduction hearing is set for next month in the case of the man charged with murder outside the Princess Theater almost two years ago.

Deovion Day has been in the Christian County Jail since February of last year under a $510,000 bond. He is charged with murder, first-degree assault, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon in connection to a December 2021 shooting outside the Princess Theater that left Aniya Collins dead and two other people injured. Day was arrested in Lexington two months after the shooting.

Appearing in Christian County Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon, Day’s attorney Shayla Lyles requested a bond reduction hearing in the case. Judge Andrew Self set an August 28 date to consider any modification and to hear any other motions before the court.
