A Hopkinsville man was charged with assaulting a woman on Carter Street Sunday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the home for a report of a woman that had been assaulted and found 39-year-old Enrique Santia, who didn’t want the woman to speak with law enforcement.
During the investigation, it was determined that Santia had allegedly hit the woman in the face, and he was found to be in possession of a Texas identification card with his photo and a different name on it.
Police say he also had Mexican identification cards with a different name on them. Santia was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
