Hopkinsville Has Financially Healthy 2022-2023

The City of Hopkinsville is finishing Fiscal Year 2022 with a surplus that will be reinvested in several places. During Tuesday night’s City Council Meeting, Chief Financial Officer Melissa Clayton shared the June financial and end-of-year report.

Clayton says the payroll tax collection for the city was 19 million 770 thousand 115 dollars.

click to download audioShe adds the property tax collection were over budget at 5.2 million and business license collection were at 2.6 million for the year helping bring the city to a 3 million dollar surplus.

click to download audioIn other business, City Council voted to approve new Code Enforcement Board Fines, closing of an alley between East 15 and East 16 streets, and rezoning of the Cayce-White Hertiage Place and Fenton Addition Subdivisions.
