Funeral services for 96-year-old Carmon Leamon Crafton, of Elkton, will be Saturday afternoon, July 22, at 2:00 at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton.
Burial will follow in the Clifty Christian Church Cemetery in Clifty.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday and beginning at noon on Saturday.
Mr. Crafton passed away at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Creekwood Nursing and Rehab in Russellville, KY.
Mr. Crafton was born in Greenville, KY on August 22, 1926. He was the Owner Operator of Crafton Trucking and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran having served aboard the USS Curtiss and the USS Norton Sound. He is a member of the American Legion Post #91 in Elkton, KY where he is the last WW II member. He is preceded in death by his parents Boyd Lee Crafton and Edith Powell Crafton, his son Michael Crafton, his brother Gerald Crafton and his Son-In-Law Robert Engle.
He is survived by his wife of 77 years Joyce Brown Crafton of Elkton, his son Ronnie Crafton and his wife Brenda of Russellville, KY, his daughter Carmen Engle of Frankfort, KY, his grandchildren Jeff Johnson, Charles Lee Crafton and Michael Johnson, his great grandchildren Hunter Johnson, Austin Johnson, Brianna Crafton, Blake Crafton and Amilya Johnson, and a special friend Darrell Moore.
