Genesis Express Has Eighty-Percent Of Funding For New Facility

While Genesis Express is continuing to see progress made on its Intergenerational Center on Jefferson Street in Cadiz, the building is nearly paid-off.

Recent support from the community, paired with a round of donations collected Saturday night during the 50th wedding anniversary celebration of Stephanie and Craig Perry, finds the $1.2 million project about $100,000 away from being debt-free.

Around $3,000 was collected during the anniversary celebration and a $50,000 donation was presented by the Sutherland family, on behalf of the Perry’s.

Genesis Express Historian Jonathon White told Your News Edge they are extremely grateful for the recent support.

President George Radford added the new building is moving along quickly.

When construction on the building is complete, there are some outside projects that are being considered for the property.

The goal of Genesis Express remains to provide programs to help community members lead valuable, productive, healthy, and happy lives.

The property for the facility was donated to the organization by the Francis and Oates families, is a little over three acres, and will also feature a road that connects Jefferson Street and Will Jackson Road.
