Sammie Lee ‘Bo’ Burnam, 81, of Cadiz

Funeral Services for 81-year-old Sammie Lee “Bo” Burnam of Cadiz, will be 1 PM Saturday at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Sivills Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 4 PM Friday.

Survivors include:
Wife of nearly 45 years, Ann Hampton Burnam, of Cadiz;
Brother, Ray Burnam Sr., of Cadiz;
Two sisters, Shirley Cook, of Princeton, and Jean Calhoun, of Cadiz;
And two sisters in law.

Burnam died at 12:21 PM Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.

He was born August 14, 1941, in Trigg County, as the son of late Sam Burnam and the late Eunice Mitchell Burnam.

He retired from a successful career in construction at Ft. Campbell.

After his retirement, he stayed busy at work at Boots Randolph Golf Course. He also was a former employee of Goodwin Funeral Home, where he was introduced to his future wife, Ann. The couple were married in November 1978, and “Bo,” as he was affectionately known to family and close friends, loved being a part of his wife’s large family, as well as his own. He especially enjoyed being around the kids at family gatherings and loved and treated each of them as if they were his own.

He was a longtime devoted member of Liberty Point Baptist Church, where he was also a member of the men’s Sunday school class. He enjoyed working in his garden.
