A Hopkinsville man was arrested and charged in connection to a shooting that happened on May 14th on Walnut Street in Hopkinsville.
Hopkinsville Police say 31-year-old Devon Poindexter was arrested in connection to a shooting that injured 34-year-old Benjamin Murray who was found with a gunshot wound to the leg in the middle of East 14th Street.
Murray was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health where he was treated for his injuries. Police say Poindexter took the gun from the scene after the shooting to keep it from law enforcement.
Poindexter was arrested Thursday and charged with first-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
