Weather Edge forecaster David Powell said the Wednesday afternoon wind event in downtown Hopkinsville could have been a microburst.
Powell shared that the storm formed over the city rather quickly.

AT&T cell service was also down in the downtown Hopkinsville area, as a fiber line was damaged. Photos received by Your News Edge also showed significant damage to the Valero on East 9th Street in Hopkinsville.
The National Weather Service in Paducah will not survey the damage in Hopkinsville.
As we head toward the weekend, a daily shot for showers and thunderstorms returns to the forecast – highs will be in the mid to upper 80s, lows hovering around 65.
