Juvenile Charged With Running From Police After Report Of Weapon

An investigation into a juvenile possibly having a gun on Glass Avenue in Hopkinsville led to a foot pursuit Thursday night.

Hopkinsville Police say they attempted to stop the juvenile and he fled while reaching for his waistband. He allegedly tossed a .40 caliber handgun when he fell down and was found to have hollow-point ammunition and over $2,000 in cash.

He was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun by a minor, tampering with physical evidence, second-degree fleeing or evading police, and using restricted ammunition during a felony (no shots fired).
