Woman Charged With Trafficking Fentanyl In Hopkinsville

A woman was charged with trafficking fentanyl after a vehicle that had been reported stolen was located on Locust Street in Christian County Wednesday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say a city camera alerted them of the stolen vehicle in the area of East 18th Street and the vehicle was located parked at a house on Locust Street.

20-year-old Jakiyah Hinton was reportedly the only person inside the home and said she had been driving the vehicle.

Police say they were able to obtain a search warrant due to the smell of marijuana and the key to the vehicle still being inside the home.

During the search, 155 pills believed to be fentanyl, a gun that had been reported stolen, marijuana, 10 Clonazepam pills, 7 packages of THC edibles, a large amount of money, and several items with drug residue on them were reportedly located.

The gun was reported stolen out of Evansville, Indiana and the vehicle was reported stolen by Enterprise in Owensboro.

Hinton was arrested and charged with trafficking fentanyl, third-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), possession of marijuana, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and two counts of receiving stolen property.
