Roy “Alan” Alder, age 58, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 5:00 PM at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with burial to follow in Harmony Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home Wednesday, June 21, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mr. Alder was born in Christian County, on November 30, 1964, the son of Alice “Faye” Goode Taylor and the late Roy Milton Alder. Alan was an operator for the Christian County Road Department. He attended New Palestine Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, Alice “Faye” Goode Taylor of Petersburg, TN, survivors include his wife of 27 years, Annette Marie Gilliland Alder of Hopkinsville; his sons, Thomas Alan Alder of Hopkinsville, Brandon Alexander Alder (Kayla) of Hopkinsville; his daughters, Amanda Lynn Sholar (Jonathan) of Hopkinsville, Kalan Elizabeth Alder (Tyler Lightner) of Hopkinsville; his brothers, Jefferey Lynn Alder (Lana) of Petersburg, TN, Jason Frank Taylor of Petersburg, TN; and his grandchildren, Alayna Marie Alder, Carolyne Grace Alder, and Allison Lou Ann Sholar.
