A Hopkinsville man was charged with robbery after he reportedly took an HWEA truck on South Clay Street Thursday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 36-year-old Howki Tools got into a truck owned by HWEA and refuse to get out, he then took the keys out of the employee’s pocket.
He then reportedly drove off but was stopped by police on East 9th Street and told them the HWEA employees and others were attempting to kill him.
Police say he was sweating profusely and shaky consistent with drug use. In his belongings, police reportedly found two social security cards along with mail from the Bryan Street area that did not belong to him.
Tools was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal mischief, public intoxication, second-degree robbery, theft of identity, and possession of stolen mail.
