Man Charged After Hopkinsville Pursuit

A man was charged after he reportedly led law enforcement on a pursuit in Hopkinsville Wednesday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they attempted to stop 26-year-old Kenneth Wilfong on West 7th Street for a noise violation and his rear license plate was not illuminated.

He reportedly fled, failing to stop at multiple stop signs, before ending in a field at the end of North Kentucky Avenue.

Police say he hit one officer’s vehicle while doing donuts in the field and jumped into the passenger seat and claimed there was a driver that fled.

Wilfong was arrested after being tased and he was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, first-degree criminal mischief, disregarding a stop sign, reckless driving, inadequate silencer (muffler), rear license plate not illuminated, operating on a suspended or revoked license, no registration receipt, failure to maintain required insurance, failure to wear a seatbelt, probation violation, and DUI.
