Oak Grove Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges

A traffic stop for speeding on Fort Campbell Boulevard in Oak Grove led to drug charges for two adults and two juveniles Sunday morning.

Oak Grove Police say they stopped 19-year-old Amarion Browder of Hopkinsville for going 17 mph over the speed limit and during the stop, they could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

After a search of the vehicle, marijuana, a handgun, and an open bottle of alcohol were reportedly found.

Police say 19-year-old Deandre Draper and two juveniles all from Hopkinsville were also in the vehicle at the time of the stop.

Browder was arrested and charged with speeding, possession of marijuana, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, and third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor. Draper was also arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana, second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, and possession of a firearm by a minor.

The two juveniles in the car were cited and released to their parents.
