Shirley Cavanah, 77, of Hopkinsville

A celebration of life for 77-year old Shirley Dean Hammond Cavanah of Hopkinsville will be announced at a later date.

Christian Cremation and Funeral Care is in charge of the arrangements.

Ms. Cavanah passed away on Saturday, May 27th at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, Kentucky of natural causes.

She was born February 25, 1946 in Cadiz, Kentucky the daughter of the late Mark and Ruby Armstrong Hammond.

Shirley was a hair stylist for over 50 years and was a lady of great faith who loved talking and sharing her daily devotionals with her daughter-in-law every morning until she became too ill.

She was one of a kind. She was sweet, sassy, a spitfire and full of life. She loved her family, grandchildren and her friends. She carried a very special place in her heart for all stray animals and would feed any and all animals that came to her door. She was a passionate advocate animal lover. She loved her precious animals, Prince, Sweet Pea and Princess. She also enjoyed flower gardening and the springtime when all was in bloom, shopping, getting dressed up and getting her nails done. She would always shine with her jewelry and had a purse to match every outfit. Her contagious smile lit up every room when she walked in.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, WJ Hammond. She is survived by her son, Michael Cavanah (Phyllis) of Russellville; three grandchildren, Bella Cavanah, Morgan Ralph and Justin Ralph and two great grandchildren, Jaxsper Ralph and Avree Townsend.
