A Madisonville man was charged with receiving stolen property after a wreck on Elk Fork Road near US 68 in Elkton Tuesday.
Elkton Police say they were called to the area for a vehicle that was hanging off the embankment near the creek,
No one was found in the area but an hour after leaving the scene police say they were called back for 34-year-old Travis Dorough who was walking around in the area.
He reportedly appeared to be under the influence of some drug and admitted that he had been driving the vehicle that morning.
He was arrested and charged with public intoxication after he was checked out at the hospital. Police say on Friday Madisonville Police notified them the vehicle had been reported stolen Tuesday.
Dorough was then charged with receiving stolen property.
