HCC’s 57th Round Table Literary Journal To Be Revealed Wednesday

The 22,000 pound replica of King Arthur’s Round Table is nestled among a grove of trees in Round Table Literary Park on the campus of Hopkinsville Community College.

Hopkinsville Community College’s 57th Round Table Literary Journal will be revealed during an awards ceremony planned for noon Wednesday at Round Table Park — with the College’s Auditorium Gallery serving as a rain location.

Readings will come from various contributors to this year’s journal, which was overseen by HCC English Faculty Editor Caitlin Chester and Co-Editor Elizabeth Burton.

The journal also showcases artwork from local students at HCC, Christian County High School, Indian Hills Elementary and University Heights Academy, as well as original writing from the region.

Named after HCC’s popular park, the Round Table Literary Journal was founded in 1966, upon the idea that all voices deserve representation. Retired HCC instructor Frances G. Thomas, along with a group of HCC honor students, were its first publishers.

Awards in categories such as artwork, poetry, fiction and non-fiction will be handed out, and selected contributors will read from their work.

Copies of the journal will be distributed, and light refreshments will follow. The event is free and open to the public.
