From 9:30 AM until 4 PM the rest of the week, and from 9 AM until noon Saturday, the annual Spring Book Sale at the John L. Street Library has been quite busy to start the week.
Kim Fortner, technical librarian, said Monday “went great,” with “good crowds” and pleasant weather — with winds that didn’t blow anyone, or any books, away from 244 Main Street.
A large selection remains available, with donations the only charge for “purchases,” and all proceeds go to the library’s general fund.
The sale also offers mixed media, with DVDs and a handful of vinyls remaining for sifters and piddlers looking for the perfect find.
Weather looks perfect up until Friday, but Fortner says not to worry.
This week is also as good as any to sign up for library card, which gives users consistent access to books, audiobooks, CDs, magazines, online databases, Creativebug, the Ancestry Library Edition, the Kentucky Virtual Library, the Interlibrary Loan System, as well as online contests and in-person programming.
Something that doesn’t require a library card, however, is the growing Cadiz Record archive, which now has more back issues installed. Officials note all dates from 1933 through 2022 are accessible, and it can be found at jlslibrary.org.
