Summer Salute Footprint Expanding 50 Percent

With vendor registration at a record high, and several others anxiously waiting on a list, the 2023 Summer Salute Festival will be bigger than previous iterations.

Thursday afternoon, officials with the City of Hopkinsville and Hopkinsville Parks & Recreation announced the party’s footprint will expand by 50%, in order to better accommodate this “crush of vendor interest,” and increase festival space in the downtown area.

Vendors on the waiting list have already been contacted to confirm their spots, and now only 15 locations remain — none of them capable for food.

Registration information for product vendors is available on the Summer Salute website and Facebook page. They are expected to quickly fill.

In addition to this massive expansion, one of the biggest car shows and cruise-ins has been confirmed for the celebration: Top Gun Car Shows out of Mayfield. It’ll be available that Friday and Saturday evening. With 25 years of experience, their spread of classic and heavy metal will be set up near West Side Park and 9th Street, near the car lot.

Already announced, the musical entertainment each evening has Starship with Mickey Thomas slated for Friday, and The Commodores on tap for Saturday.
