The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a work zone lane restriction for pothole patching along Interstate 24 westbound in Lyon County on Thursday and Friday.

District 1 spokesman Keith Todd says this work zone lane restriction for pothole patching and concrete pavement maintenance will be along I-24 westbound at the 50 to 52-mile marker from approximately 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., each day. He indicates the location of the work zone lane restriction will move from time to time to accommodate work on several concrete pavement slabs.

Due to the work, all traffic will be moved to the left-hand or passing lane. Westbound motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach the 50-mile marker.

According to Todd, the crew will limit the work zone to short segments to help minimize traffic disruptions.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
