The National Weather Service in Paducah confirmed that straight-line winds damaged portions of Calvert City in Marshall County during Wednesday’s severe storms.
The survey completed Friday stated that winds up to 95 MPH impacted the city around 1:50 PM.
A barn collapsed, numerous homes reported shingle damage, and many trees were snapped or uprooted.
The Calvert City survey comes a day after a storm survey assessment crew determined an EF-0 tornado touched down in Calloway County. That tornado touched down about ten minutes after the straight-line winds impacted the town of over 2,500 residents.
