Hopkinsville Electric System and contract crews are continuing to make progress in restoring electric power following Friday night’s wind storm that left more than 6,000 without power.

HES General Manager Jeff Hurd says all substation breakers had been energized by 11 Saturday night and main feeder lines had been put back in service. As of Sunday morning, Hurd says about 750 HES customers remain without electric power due to problems with their tap lines or services on their homes.

He says the majority of those without power will hopefully have electricity restored by the end of Sunday.
