NWS Assessment Crew Surveying Hopkinsville’s Latest Storm Damage

A storm survey assessment team from the National Weather Service in Paducah was in Hopkinsville Saturday.

Christine Wielgos, Warning Coordination Meteorologist for the regional NWS, was on hand for the survey. Her team followed Christian County Emergency Management Director Randy Graham observing damage reports his office received following the storm.

Their work will determine what severe weather event occurred in the Hopkinsville city limits late Friday night.

The assessment began at The Pines Apartments on Country Club Lane. At that location, they observed structural damage, totaled vehicles, and numerous downed trees.
