Hopkinsville Man Charged With Selling Home He Did Not Own

A Hopkinsville man was arrested on a warrant Thursday after he allegedly tried to sell a home he did not own.

Hopkinsville Police say on August 24th 40-year-old Billy Tomlinson agreed to sell a South Virginia Street home to someone on monthly payments. After further investigation, he reportedly collected $15,000 in payments on the home he did not own.

Police say he also had a tag on his vehicle that belong to an older vehicle that had already been junked. He was arrested and charged with theft by deception and improper registration plate.
