Two Charged With Abuse After Child Burned

A man and woman were charged Thursday afternoon with criminal abuse after they allegedly failed to take their child to the hospital in a timely manner.

Hopkinsville Police say the 2-year-old child of 28-year-old Brandon Davis and 27-year-old Brianna Prather suffered severe burns to his face and arm and they waited approximately 16 hours before taking the child to the hospital.

They reportedly had a fear of the police being called and the child being taken away from them also having financial problems and a long wait at the hospital.

They were both arrested and charged with first-degree criminal abuse of a child.  The report does not give any information on how the child was burned.
