Woman Charged With Drug Possession After Traffic Stop

A woman was charged with possession of drugs after a traffic stop on Sanderson Drive in Hopkinsville Sunday night.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped 40-year-old Lauvenia Webb after she made a left turn on a red light and during the stop, she was unable to show proof of insurance, and the registration on the vehicle was canceled.

A law enforcement K9 reportedly indicated on the vehicle and marijuana, a Gabapentin pill, and suspected meth were found in her possession.

Deputies say after she was arrested she started kicking, cursing, and hitting the cruiser door and after arriving at the jail she was reportedly found to have more marijuana in her jacket pocket.

She is charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana, possession of meth, disregarding a traffic control device, no registration plates, failure to maintain required insurance, and failure to produce an insurance card.
