One Killed And Three Severely Injured In Guthrie Explosion (w/VIDEO)

Three people were severely injured and one person was killed in an explosion on 2nd Street in Guthrie Wednesday afternoon.

Guthrie Police Chief Dean Blumel says three people were severely injured in an explosion at Quick Turn Anodizing on 2nd Street.

Blumel says someone was offloading cooking oil in an outside tank when an explosion happened that is believed to have been caused by some lye mixing with the oil.

The explosion reportedly sent the tank  through the exterior wall along with interior walls.

Two people were reportedly transported by ambulance to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville and a third person who is a Trenton firefighter that responded to the explosion was flown to a Nashville hospital.

Todd County Coroner Timothy Wells confirmed at least one person was killed in the explosion.

The road was blocked off  as hazmat, officials with the EPA and other investigators worked to clear the area and investigate what happened.
