Keeping Livestock Safe During Extreme Winter Weather

With temperatures predicted to drop below into the single digits during the winter storm, it is important to make sure livestock are protected from the extreme temperatures.

Agriculture Extension Agent David Fourqurean says one of the main concerns is providing some type of wind break to protect livestock and animals from the predicted strong winds and dangerous wind chills.

He adds animals that are likely going to give birth need to be monitored and placed in an area to protect them and their offspring from the cold.
