Lyon Judge-Executive White Steps Down Early

Serving as Lyon County’s judge-executive since 2011, Wade White announced Friday morning that he was stepping aside prior to the end of this final term — officially making way for 2022 General Election winner Jaime Green to take the seat. Preparing to serve as an appointee to the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Board of Directors, White had announced in September 2021 that he wasn’t seeking re-election.

click to download audioWhite noted that over the last few months, he’d given both Green and former Lyon County Judge-Executive Terry McKinney opportunities to shadow in this transition phase.

click to download audioWhite said his office has already requested Gov. Andy Beshear install Green sooner rather than later, as Lyon County Fiscal Court prepares to meet on its regular schedule next week.

He said he “felt good” about her progress, that she was doing “a great job,” and that she was “ready to go.”

White further noted he’ll turn his attention to TVA issues, while still being based and connected with Lyon County.
