Judge Denies Bond Reduction In Sharpe Street Murder Case

Dekorian Daniel (Christian County Jail mugshot)

A motion to reduce the bond was denied for one of the suspects charged in connection to the October 26th fatal shooting of 23-year Adrian Acree in Hopkinsville.

Dekorian Daniel appeared with his attorney Olivia Adams before Judge John Atkins in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning. According to court records, Adams had asked for Daniel’s bond of $750,000 to be reduced by 10% to $75,000 with a surety to be posted.

After hearing arguments from Adams and Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling, Judge Atkins denied the bond reduction because Daniel is “dangerous”.

Judge Atkins set another pre-trial conference for January 25.

Daniel and Jaila Sherrod, both of Hopkinsville, were indicted by a Christian County grand jury in April for complicity to murder. Hopkinsville resident, Cortez Hairston, Jr. was charged with murder in the death of Acree who was found on Jones Street near the intersection of Sharpe Street on October 26th.
