Man Charged With Fleeing From Police

A Hopkinsville man was charged after a foot pursuit on South Main Street in Hopkinsville Tuesday night.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped 43-year-old Harold Jones while he was walking with some kind of weapon in his hands.

He allegedly would not follow commands to drop the weapon and stop walking away.

Police say he then fled on foot but was apprehended after falling down. He reportedly told police someone was trying to kill him and admitted to smoking synthetic marijuana.

He was arrested and charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police, menacing, second-degree disorderly conduct, and public intoxication.
