The value-added and supply divisions of the Hopkinsville Elevator Cooperative both reported strong years in 2021 during the annual meeting held October 4, at the Bruce Convention Center.
The value-added side of Hopkinsville Elevator is known as Commonwealth Agri Energy. General Manager Mick Henderson told cooperarative members the main product they produce, ethanol, continues to have a major impact on fuel for vehicles.
Henderson noted without ethanol, drivers would be paying more for gasoline.
He also saluted the workforce at Commonwealth Agri Energy for their continuing efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, the supply division of Hopkinsville Elevator is Agri-Chem. General Manager David Buchanon says they unsure what 2021 would bring with higher input costs and a shortage in supplies.
Buchanon also thanked the employees for their dedication.
Agri-Chem now operates out of one consolidated location near Commonwealth Agri Energy in Casky.
