Trigg County’s ‘Transcraft’ Re-Brands To ‘Wabash’

Though the process began in early February, officials from One Wabash paid a formal visit to Cadiz Tuesday afternoon to celebrate the renaming of local industry “Transcraft Corporation” to “Wabash.”

It’s an official re-brand for the national transportation, logistics and distribution company, which now has all of its designations and services under one umbrella for its worldwide customers.

Over the years, Wabash has been able to procure a number of organizations from the Ohio Valley all the way up to the Great Lakes — including Transcraft, Benson, Walker and Renner — and it’s created this catalog of trucking options for commerce.

Now, the re-branding has unified the company’s vision — creating a one-stop shop for customers.

Kristin Glazner, chief human resources officer and general counsel for One Wabash, said this facelift serves a dual purpose.

“Supply chain” seems to be a buzzword in 2022, and will continue to be as long as goods and services continue to get delayed worldwide. But One Wabash and its facilities are truly a part of the nation’s supply chain focus, as trucking options continually change and improve interstate shipping lanes.

Glazner noted that continued innovation is key to pursuing these shipping solutions in three key areas: parts & services, cold-chain refrigeration and the handling of e-commerce disruption.

Like many during the global pandemic, Glazner said Wabash discovered just how interconnected commerce can actually be across the nation — especially on land.

Wabash helps anchor the freight industry, and if that goes down, Glazner said that’s where the trouble can truly begin.

Cadiz Plant Manager Michael Almy said the re-branding felt important in Trigg County because it helps bring this specific plant and its efforts closer to the company’s vision and focus — creating more of an inclusive, all-purpose atmosphere.

Almy reiterated the idea of taking this inclusiveness to the customer — who should now have an even easier time acquiring what’s needed to get goods from “Point A” to “Point B” without some sort of shopping detour.

Almy even thought back to his first interview with Transcraft, not knowing then just how interconnected the company was to the freight industry.

Now, he can’t travel without seeing the impact of what is now One Wabash.

As an organization, Wabash has been around since 1985. Benson/Transcraft first arrived in Trigg County around 2008.
