Joy Closet Hosting Vision Dinner on August 30

Joy Closet is having a fundraiser and vision dinner next week as the organization celebrates one year of service to Hopkinsville, Christian County, and the region.

Heather Gray began Joy Closet in Hopkinsville last year after she and her husband became foster parents in 2016.

click to download audioJoy Closet served over 200 families and nearly 100 families in the first six months of operation. They utilize 7,500 square feet in the former Belmont Elementary School and provide assistance to children and teens in the foster care system.

Gray says Joy Closet does not receive any public or grant funding and uses fundraisers throughout the year to support its mission.

click to download audioThe Joy Closet Vision Dinner will be Tuesday, August 30 at 6 pm at New Work Fellowship. The meal is free and Gray is hopeful interested people and potential corporate partners will use the night to learn more about their future vision in the community.
