Second Suspect Wanted In Logan County Home Invasion

The name of a man shot during a home invasion in Logan County on August 1st has been released and authorities say they are looking for a second man in connection to the incident.

Logan County Sheriff’s deputies say 35-year-old Joshua Taylor of Russellville showed up at Jennie Stuart Health just before 2 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the abdomen claiming he was shot in Fairview at a party. Law enforcement from both counties searched the area but could not locate a crime scene.

Taylor reportedly told law enforcement his truck was in a field in Fairview but was seen on camera at the hospital when he was dropped off by someone else. Taylor was transported to a Nashville hospital, where the full extent of his injuries was unknown.

Deputies say around 9 am August 1st they were called to Deer Lick Road in Logan County to the report of a home invasion that took place around 1 am when Taylor allegedly entered the home by force and was shot by the homeowner.

Law enforcement is now asking for assistance in locating a second person in connection to the home invasion, that person being William Rice, of Elkton.

Taylor has been charged with first-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault, and second-degree criminal mischief. Rice has not been located and deputies ask if anyone has information on his whereabouts to contact the Logan County Sheriff’s Office at 270-726-2244.
