The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is planning a traffic shift on the Eggner Ferry Bridge this week that will result in a lane restriction.
The traffic shift with lane restriction is to allow inspectors to use an Under Bridge Inspection Vehicle to conduct a detailed inspection of the bridge structure.
The westbound lanes of the bridge will be closed with two-way traffic running in the eastbound lanes.
Once the under the bridge portion of the inspection is completed, the bridge will be restricted to one lane in each direction through Thursday to allow climbers to complete the detailed inspection of the remaining portions of the bridge structure.
The bridge will celebrate its sixth year of four-lane traffic this December.
