Kristie Guffey Appointed to Kentucky Commission on Women

Governor Andy Beshear has appointed a Trigg County High School alumna to the Kentucky Commission on Women.

Kristie Broadbent Guffey of Murray was appointed by the governor to serve the remainder of an unexpired term that ends on January 17.

Guffey is an associate professor of agriscience at Murray State University. A graduate of Trigg County High School, Guffey worked at WKDZ before attending Murray State.

Since 2019, Guffey has worked as an assistant professor of agriscience and graduate coordinator at Murray State. Prior to that, she was a high school agriculture educator for Carlisle County Schools and the FFA Leadership Training Center director.

According to their website, the Kentucky Commission on Women works to improve the status of women in Kentucky, educates the public about issues and challenges pertaining to women, serves as a catalyst to bring policymakers and advocates together, and is an informational clearinghouse for women around the Commonwealth.
