City Council Approves Potential $425K In Funds For Improvements

Hopkinsville City Council is looking at the implementation of $270,000 in Community Block Grants and $75,000 in potential grant funds with a match. Tuesday night, City Council approved the anticipated Block Grant funds, which City Clerk Crissy Fletcher explained.

click to download audioOf the funds, $40,000 would go to the Boys and Girls Club, $54,000 to administration of the grants, and $78,000 to rehabilitation programs in inner city neighborhoods. The other $97,000 would go to debt services.

Fletcher also read the proposed Municipal Order for a National Endowment For the Arts grant application.

Meanwhile, Atmos Energy Supervisor Ryan Tolbert says they are working to finish the low pressure project on Phelps Avenue but supply chain issues have made getting concrete hard.
