I-24 Construction Work to Commence Between Cadiz and Tennessee State Line

A two-mile stretch of I-24 in Trigg County will be restricted to one lane starting Monday in order for concrete repairs to be made while repairs will also be made in Christian County.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-24 between the 66 and 68-mile markers between the Cadiz and Julien exits will be affected starting Monday. Officials say it should take about two weeks to complete the road work.

Paving work on I-24 in southern Christian County near the state line is expected to be completed this weekend.

Meanwhile, I-24 westbound from the Hopkinsville/Oak Grove exit to near the welcome center will be one lane for about three weeks as they prepare for three lanes of traffic on the westbound side while a full reconstruction is performed for a six-mile stretch to the state line.

Repairs include concrete patching, edge drain replacement, and full-depth shoulder reconstruction. The Westbound repair work will take about three weeks to complete.
