A Hopkinsville man was charged after a standoff with police on West 2nd Street in Hopkinsville Monday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the area for an unknown problem and located a female who stated 24-year-old Antonio Rowe had a gun and was threatening suicide by police.
He had reportedly got into a fight with her over dinner and broke two televisions in the home, grabbed her by the throat, slung her around the room, and hit her in the face.
Police say the woman had visible marks from the assault and blacked out at one point during the assault. He allegedly pointed a gun at her head and told her to call the police.
When officers arrived, they reportedly called out to him to see if he would willingly come out of the home and he walked outside and stated if the police came up there they would have to kill him.
Police say after setting up a perimeter he exited the home on his own and was arrested. He is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree strangulation, and fourth-degree assault.
