Hopkinsville Man Charged With Meth Possession

A Hopkinsville man was charged with possession of meth after a request to check the welfare of a woman on Grand Orchard Drive in Hopkinsville Friday morning.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called to check on a woman that had been sleeping in a vehicle at the home.

When deputies arrived they could reportedly smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and found 42-year-old James Fritz and Sara Newman inside.

Deputies say marijuana along with two meth pipes were found inside the vehicle. Fritz reportedly claimed he had to urinate and was escorted out of view by deputies, after he was done a bag of meth was located in the same area.

Fritz was arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence, and possession of meth and marijuana.
