Sinking Fork Elementary School Interim Principal Appointed

Sinking Fork Elementary School’s Site-Based Decision Making Council has appointed an interim principal to replace Leslie Lancaster who was appointed as the principal of Freedom Elementary School last week.

According to school officials, Lacey Ramirez will serve as interim principal at Sinking Fork Elementary beginning June 1, after recently serving as the school’s assistant principal.

Christian County Public Schools’ Superintendent Chris Bentzel says Ramirez is an outstanding continuation of the strong leadership already set in place at Sinking Fork Elementary. He adds that she has served as a proven assistant principal and he believes she will continue leading Sinking Fork Elementary in the right direction.

Ramirez is a 2003 graduate of Hopkinsville High School and has spent her entire teaching and administrative career with Christian County Public Schools. She began her career as a teacher at Belmont Elementary School in 2008, followed by Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary and Sinking Fork Elementary schools. She joined the administrative team at Sinking Fork as assistant principal in 2018.

Ramirez is a graduate of Berea College, Western Kentucky University, and Murray State University. She holds two master’s degrees in education and has earned a Level 1 and Level 2 Endorsement for Supervisor or Instruction. She and her husband, Alex, reside in Hopkinsville and have two children.
